The senate lias passed a bill granting to the state of Oregon, townships 27, 28, 21), 30 and 31 south, in ranges 5 and 0 east of the Willamette meridian, for a public park. All this land is now em braced in a forest reservation. Tho now bill simply continues that reserva tion, and in addition puts the burden upon the state of protecting tho park from being deepoiled or trespassed upon.
