In Oregon City there wore two perceptible shocks about ten seconds apart. The first was light but siifllcient to make most buildings tremble and windows rattle, The one following was comparatively violent though not of suflicient force to do any particular damage. In Portland and in the cities or Puget sound the shock was very appreciable. On Tuesday there was a violent seismic disturb ance . in northern California and in several of the aiiiull towns considerable damage to buildings was reported. Candidatks Must Acukit.
