The county board of equalization

urday. No important changes have been
made in the valuations.
Between fifty and a hundred tons of
rock that bung threatengly on the brink
of the bluff south of the railway station
were dislodged and taken away this
week by the railway company.
The change in the by-laws of the
board of trade adopted at the last meet
ing makes the date of the regular meet
ing of that body the second Friday in
October.
Lnther Benson, the popular temper
ance lecturer, will deliver three lectures
in Pope's hall. He will speak next Sun
day at 3 p. m. and 8 p. m., and on Mon
day evening. The crowds that flock to
here him would fill a room of thrice the
capacity of this hall. On Sunday Mr.
Benson will speak to men only. Col.
Bain says he is one of the most thrilling
