The S. S. picnic held on. Tuesday at
Chatauqua was largely attended. Af
ter the basket dinner, games and
sports were enjoyed by the children.
At the school election held June 19,
E. L. Poep was re-elected directr. Mr.
Peckover was re-elected clerk, without
opposition. A committee composed of
Mrs." Rosebraugh, Mrs. Praeger and
Mrs. Gangler was appointed to act
with the directors in regard to the
erection of the playf ield. It was voted
to paint the school house, and to other
wise improve the building.
- The cottage prye meeting met with
Mr. and Mrs. Rothery on Tuesday
night.

gon another industry of great importance.
RECIPES
White Cake
One and one-half cups of sugar, one
half cup of butter', four egg whites,
three-fourths cup of sweet milk, two
and one-half cups of sifted flour, two
.teaspoons of baking powder, one-half
teaspoon of vanilla or almond flavor,
and a pinch of salt. Cream butter and
sugar thoroughly; add all but the
eggs, beating wtll, then lastly add the
eggs beaten to a stiff froth. This
makes three nice layers.
