In this way premature attempts at leg islative action may be avoided and ideas may be crystallized around the main points of attack. FAIR BOARD ELECTS event the live stock coliseum is not obtained, the fair board still plans to stage a horse show next year and will hold it in a, large tent. If the coli seum is erected, the horse show will be held there. The annual report of Secretary Lea shows a net balance on hand December 1 amounting to $9851. Upon Mr. Lea taking office, the re port shows, there was on hand $4732. 53, and $3073.46 was deposited with the state treasurer. The warrants drawn totalled $7723.74, leaving a balance on hand of $82.25. The de posits with the county treasurer to taled $2191.42, warrants for a simi lar amount being drawn. The de posits with A. N. Bush, treasurer for the board, amounted to $40,744.98 in the general fund and warrants drawn amounted $28,978.63, or a balance left on hand of $11,766.35. It was shown that the premium fund of $15,000 and the balance on hand of $4 was ex hausted and overdrawn in the sum of $2237.60. Checks totalling $240 were drawn; the balance of $9851 was left on hand. Savaire of Corvallis was elected president of the state fair board this week, to succeed M. L. Jones, who still remains a member of the board. A. C.
