Magazine Suggests Sane and Easy Way to Watch "Movie'' Morals In its July issue the Woman's Home Companion continues its cam paign for better moving pictures. A number of films are especially rec ommended to readers as being thor oughly clean, wholesome and genu inely interesting. The editor of the department com ments in part as follows on the re sponsibility of parents to investigate for themselves if they want their children to see good movies. "Censorship really belongs to par ents instead of to paid officers. Par ents are too prone to evade respons ibility for children's wrongdoing, really due to the lack of home train ing, and prefer to shift it upon schools, churches and boards of cen sorship. "The training you are giving your children should more than balance any harm done by the films. Keep in mind thatfilms are not the only source of contamination. Well bounfi books may contain more insidiously harmful influences!, Undesirable playmates are another uncensored source. "In your case, the best thing to do is to find out what theatre handles, on the whole, the most de sirable films, and let the children at tend that one exclusively. The problem, after all, comes down to this: it must be made profitable for an exhibitor to show good pictures. From his standpoint it is a business proposition, not a philanthropic insti tution."
