The Last Man Hired and the
First Man Fired
He can't hold a responsible position,
because he cannot be depended upon.
. The railroads will not have him; no
business house will keep him; factories
don t want him; the navy has barred
him.
And WHY will you vote to make
drinkers? Will Oregon be any better
for having drunkard factories?
If there was a measure before the
people of Oregon to license saloons to
sell morphine, cocaine, opium or other
drugs, the indignant voters would bury
it under an avalanche of protesting
votes.
Liquor will cause just as much dam
age and demoralization. It will ruin
just as many homes and send just as
many men to hell.
And the man or woman who next
Tuesday votes for selling liquor in Or
egon is just as guilty of making drunk
ards as the bartender who passes out
the booze. And that man or woman
will be held just as accountable.
