Referring to Clackamas County
About a year ago many Clackamas
county officers took it into their
heads that they were bosses, and en
gaged in some thimble-ring work
contrary to the will of and best in
terests of their constituency. The
result was that a recall election re
moved them from office and new men
wore elected who are conducting
themselves as servants of the people
instead of masters, and everything
is going along smoothly there, and
they say it was the best tiling that
ever happened in the county. It will
have the same effect in Columbia
county. We will elect new men over
tho bulldozers who are violating the
law, and trying to build roads con
trary to the will of the people. They
are sick and tired of paying tribute
to the Boss. Tweed McCormick dicta
tors. Columbia Herald, Houlton, Or.
Columbia county filed its recall pe
titions for the three county court of
ficers nnd tho county attorney and
tho recall election was called for Sep
tember 22. Since then we learn that
Judge Enkin has enjoined them and
the election has been held up.
