House, one of the leading Congregutional pastors on the coast, and one of the most proficient ex perts in psychology in the United States lectures to union congrega tions from all the evangelical church es of the city on the afternoon and evening of each day. He has spoken upon "Bible Healing," "The Forces of Suggestion," ' 'Spiritual Healing versus Mental Healing," etc. This afternoon he will speak upon "The Psychology of the Boy and Girl," and this evening (Friday,) his top ic will he "Jesus, the Conscious Mind of God." MOUNTAIN VIEW Dr. Ford's Lust Sunday Before Con ference Next Sunday will be Dr. Ford's last Sunday in Oregon City before going to conference next week. The services will be mado unusually in teresting. The choir will render special music, and there will bo bap tism and reception of members in the morning. In the evening Rev. R. C. Ulnckwell, a former and highly re spected pastor, will preach. He will preach also in the afternoon at Willa mette. Rev. Geo. II. Telse of Lake- view will spend the Sunday with Dr. Ford. Glen Burd, who has been working in Washington and Idaho, returned home Monday to the surprise of his parents, who were very pleased to see him. The Ladies' Aid will meet this af ternoon at the church and do some work, also they will meet again soon for the election of new offciers. L. W. Fowler, who has been a guest at the home of his sister, Mrs., D. S. Conrad, is leaving for his home in Washington, but may return and winter in our city. The most of those people who went hop picking have returned to their homes somewhat wiser but not much richer as hop picking was short this fall. i Charley Quinn, whose hearty laugh used to ring out on our streets, is reported to be in a very critical condition at his home near Marquam. Referring to Clackamas County About a year ago many Clackamas county officers took it into their heads that they were bosses, and en gaged in some thimble-ring work contrary to the will of and best in terests of their constituency. The result was that a recall election re moved them from office and new men wore elected who are conducting themselves as servants of the people instead of masters, and everything is going along smoothly there, and they say it was the best tiling that ever happened in the county. It will have the same effect in Columbia county. We will elect new men over tho bulldozers who are violating the law, and trying to build roads con trary to the will of the people. The high school, consisting of the ninth and tenth grades are to be sent to the Oregon City High School by the dis trict. Manual training, consisting of wood work for the boys and sewing for the girls, is being introduced in to the school. The teachers are D. U. Cochrane, principal; Miss Bach man, intermediate, and Miss Landan, primary. The young people of the Metho dist and Congregational churches had a union meeting Saturday even ing for a social time and several meetings Sunday at the Congrega tional church. Mr. Alva Patton of Forest Grove was chairman of the meetings. Mr. Evert Baker, Pres ident of the Oregon Christian En deavor, Mr. C. H. Sprague, Vice President of the Oregon Christian Endeavor, and Mr. J. W. Peters, President of the Epworth League of Portland, were the speakers. The series of meetings were both enter taining and helpful. Mrs. Imler has been confined to her home for several days on account of severe illness.
