This neighborhood was much grie
ved to learn of the death of Mr. Frank
Sharp, at his home in Frog Pond last
week.
Mrs. Ethel Bonk (nee Molloy) has
the heartfelt sympathy of her many
friends in this villiage over the death
or her husband H. P. Bonk, who died
at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland
rriday night after a short illness,
Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Aden enter
tained a number of friends Saturday
evening at tneir nome.
Wilsonville and Hood View base
ball teams played a game on the
Wilsonville diamond Saturday morn
ing. Score 20 to 6 in favor of Hood
View. Game next Saturday at the
nome or tne Jones boys near Correll
Creek school. Mr. Ehner Jones um
pires these juvenile games.
Mrs. Mary Seely spent all of the
last week in Portland visiting her
sisters and her daughter Mrs. Wm.
Barber.
Mr. Andy Hasslebuick, who five
weeks ago underwent an operation for
appendicitis, is again very ill. Andy
is a gToom of oniy four months and
the young couple have many friends
who hope for his speedy recovery.
The Gleaners Club of the M. E.
Church gave a St. Patrick's day en
tertainment in the basement of the
church Tuesday eve., where tho bovs
wore laree ereen neckties. Green and
yeiiow were tne nowers for tne deco
rations and ereen lemonade was ser
ved with delicious cake made by the
Gleaner girls who served in green
caps and ties, the program render
ed by the Gleaners was fine and all
free to their many friends who wer
especially invited. The most inter
esting story told was one by Mr.
Sherman Seely, which ran that Mr.
Seely, his brother and another een-
tleman friend had gone calling on the
Brobsts sisters, there being five in
the party and he being able to count
only four, himself one, the sisters
two, his brother three and his friend
four, until some one told him the sis
ters were really two, to the great
amusement of the audience.
Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Young enter
tained sixteen of their friends Sat
urday afternoon at 500. Light re
freshments were served.
Mrs. M. C. Young entertained a
number of her lady friends Wednes
day afternoon from 1:30 to 5:30 p.
m. at 500, when a light lunch was
served. Miss Kate Wolbert carried
off first prize, Mrs. Dill second, and
Mrs. John W. Thornton booby,
Amonir those present were Mrs. Joe
J. Thornton, Mrs. Jake Peters, Mrs.
H. U. Aden, Mrs. Dill, Mrs. JN. w.
Young, Mrs. Andy Hasslebrink, Mrs.
Reed Graham, Mrs. Chas. Myers,
Mrs. N. O. Sav. Mrs. John W. Thorn
ton, Mrs. Fred Wiedemann, Mrs. Joe

enjoyed a splendid day and when
evening came Mr. D. S. Young very
graciously took the ladies home,
making two carloads, giving them an
