Western Dairies Growing.
'- The Outlook for the dairy in
dustry in the acii'ic Northwest is
much to the good, reports the
Western Slock Journal, published
at Oregon City. Reports from
many sections of the five coast
states indicate an upward move
ment for the industry and we pre
dict that within the next twelve
months several, thousand dairy
cows will be added to the service
on iho coast. 1 .
Additional butler, creamery and
cheese establishments must nec
essarily spring up, and these in
turn will create a still greater de
mand for dairy cows. ',
In -tvery increase noted of an
increase in the dairy- hred, ' the
tendency has been toward -' the
pure blood animal, and this large
ly through-the continued efforts
of the agricultural schools and
better class publications; To
build scubslantially from the best
foundation stock, -seems to have
obtained a foolhojd in the Pacific
Northwest. .
