Mr Oamehl was born in Oomson Proving of Hanover, Germany, July 8, 1857, came to America at the age of 27 years, returning to Germany the next year to remain only one year, whon he again returned to America in 1857 and in the same year was married to Miss Elizabeth Lehr, October 2(S. 18D7. Mr. and Mrs. Oamehl settled in St. Peters, Minn., whore Mr. Oamehl followed the stone mason's trade until 1862, when he crossed the continent to Portland, Oregon and spent the greater part of the years '63 and '04 in the then small village at work as stone mason and cai pouter on some of the now historic buildings of our present metropolis.
