THE MAN WHO CAME BACK
"I've been dealing here for almost 20 years," a man told us the other day.
"Once in a while I have strayed away, but I have always come back. Your store
is the most satisfactory drug store I ever traded in and I've made up my mind
to stick pretty close in the future." This surely warms the cockles of our heart,
and then seta us to thinking of the hundreds of old friends who have stayed with
us through thick and thin. It is certainly a pleasure to look back over this
time and note the friends who have "kept coming" all these years. It's the
"keep coming" kind tnat have made it possible for us to grow as we have. Here
and now we want to thank our loyal friends most heartily for their consistency
and to express the hope that our store will be your store for a long time to come.

Oregon's Remarkable Health Record
That Oregon hasthe most wonderful
climate ot nay part of the earth, aud
a climate which t uids to longevity,
is tl.e consensus of opinion ot all, as
derived from tho remarkable report
published of Oregon Life Insurance
Company at the close of the year
1U09, which shows a total of over
$3,2(S.(XH) Insurance in force on the
books, and with $1,000 death losses
sustained by the couipanv since or
gan! action, April is). WOO." This is a
most remarkable reoord, aud lira never
been paralleled in life insurance his
tory. Jt is said to be unique, and is
attributed by General Manager Sam
nol to two great causes. First, and of
tin most importance, is the fact that
Oregon's climate is such that it tends
towards health ; nud second, the great
reoord is made through careful selec
tion of risks. What makes these fig
ures particularly interesting to the
people of Oregou is the fact that Ore
gon Life is the only life insurance
company which confines all of its
business to the state of Oregon etclu-'
sively. aud no risk is taken on auv life
greater than 110,000.
Interesting about Oregon Life is the
fa it that it was fouuded by L, Samuel
le-s than four years ago, and has been
made to pay its way from the start,
aud by reason of its careful manage
ment has given handsome returns to
its policy holders. What are gener
allv kuown as stockholders in other
companies are simply guarantors in
Oreiiou Life. That is, no greater
profit than J per cent on the money
they have put into this company can
ever be earned by them. Their own
money is earniug it, aud their guaran
tee certificates ran be retired when
the mjority of the policy holders de
mand it.
It is a credit to Oregon to have so
magnificent a life insurance company
as Oregon Lite. Premiums for life in
surance can now be kept in Oregon,
instead of being sent east to be
manipulated iu Wall street
Incidentally, Oregon Life is a splen
did a Ivsttiseineut for ihe state of Ore
gon. Irs low death rate shows the
healthy condition of Oregon as
nothing else possibly could. Oregon
ians can well afford to nnite in giving
Oreon.Life preference. It is built on
right lines, and ia conducted by men
wno are prominent iu me aaairg 01
