School District No. 48, the Park-
place district, has petitioned the cir
cuit oourt to issue a writ of review
under the oeal of the ennrt command
ing school District JNo. 110, whioli
comprises the district reoebtly formed
out of a portion of the Parkplace dis
trict, to certify to all proceedings re
lating to the division of the districts
together with a reoord of the at
tempted adjustment and all other
matters relating to the liabilities and
assets of district 48. Ever since the
new district was formed there has
been continual warfare between the
direotors of the two districts, and in
stead of becoming straightened oat,
the situation has grown more tangled,
so the above suit was instituted in
the hope of getting to the bottom of
the controversy. The plaintiff is rep
resented by George O. Brownell and
O, D. and D. C. Latoarette.
The American Hereford Cattle
Breeders' Association recently ap
propriated $500,000 to be nsed for the
advancement of that brand of cattle.
This money was placed in the hands
of three men, and they were instruct
