The foregoing prizes will be awarded only when
roses are especially exhibited therefor, and not in con
nection with same rose or roses in exhibition for other
frizes, except for the "best general collection."
Where asterisks are used the prizes have been pur
chased by the Society with money donated ly Oregon
City citizens.
The date is the 12 A and 13lh of June. A short
programme will le given each evening. Also a talk on
wild flowers will be given on Saturday, 13th. The
children of the county are especially invited to be present.

RULES
Governing Exhibit of Roses and Carnations.
1. All roses and carnations entered for prizes must be
grown out of doors and owned by the person making the
entry.
2. All roses and carnations entered for prizes must be
grown and cultivated by amateurs.
3. All entries must be made by number. Number
and entry must be recorded by secretary on entry.
4. Any exhibit for prize bearing name of exhibitor,
shall disqualify.
S. A committee of five shall receive and arrange for
exhibit. All exhibits will be arranged by this committee
6. All exhibitors not members of the Rose and Car
nation Society, will be charged twenty-five cents for entry.
7. All entries must conform to rules in number of
roses, name and variety, time and method of entry.
8. All entries must be made by eleven o'clock a. m.,
on first day of exhibit.
9. Prizes must be awarded by number. Name of ex
hibitor will be given after awards.
10. When a certain number of roses is designated.
there must be neither morejor less than that number en
tered.
11. Quality of foliage, length and vigor of stem, are
points for prize winners. Any added foliage will disqualify.
Doors of Hall will be closed at eleven a. m.,
until two p. m., of first clay, in otder for the Com
mittee to arrange, and judges to pass upon en
tries. At two p.m., doors will be open to public.

The commencement exorcises of
the West Side Bchool will take place
at the school houso on Saturday even
ing, June 13, and an excellent musical
