Tn one of the poorest played games
ever seen on a local diamond, the re
organized Alljina Wanderers won
their first two games of the season
by defeating the Papermakers In a
double header Decoration Day. The
rain, which -had fallen for two days
previous, left the diamond In a terrible
shape, which rendered good baseball
Impossible. Both teams hit freely
but the majority of the runs were reg
istered as the result of the numerous
errors by the members of both nines.
Kruger, who guards the difficult sack
tor the Papermakers, was sent on the
bench by umpire Rankin for losing his
head and throwing the ball at Mc
Bride, of the Pilgrims, thereby allow
ing three runs to slip in.
The visitors started the run get
ting in the opening chapter, and by
the time that three of their side were
declared "out" by his "umps," they
had nine runs. Another was annexed
in, the third, and three in the fifth,
while their last tally came in on the
seventh as a result of a series of er
rors on the part of the Papermakers.
The locals scored once In the second.
twice in the fifth, three each in the
sixth and seventh, and once more in
the closing chapter. Taylor made his
initial appearance In an Oregon City
uniform at the beginning of the sec
ond game, a five inning affair, when
he attempted to attend to the twist
department. He fell on hla shoots
with a vim, and made seven runs be
fore he was replaced at the end of
the second inning by Robinson.

Harry McClure, while riding down

He was knocked senseless, and was
taken into the house of the watchman,
where his wounds were- dressed, and
later taken to his home on the hill.

No Need of Suffering from Rheumatism
It Is a mistake to allow rheumatism
to become chronic, as the pain can al
ways be relieved, and in most cases
a cure effected by applying Chamber
lain's Pain Balm. The relief from
pain which it affords is alone worth
many times its cost. It makes sleep
and rest possible. Even in cases of
long standing this liniment should be
used on account of the relief which it
affords. 25 and 50 cent sizes for sale
