NOTABLE MEDICAL DISCOVERY.
Of 8peclal Value to Many Here In Or
egon City.
One of the moat notable discoveries
and one that undoubtedly appeals
more than anything else to many peo
ple here in Oregon "City Is the combin
ation of stomach remedies In the Ml-o-na
treatment. This prescription has
worked wonders, and there Is now no
excuse for anyone suffering with lndl
gestion or weak stomach.
It acts specifically upon the muscles
of the stomach and bowels, strength
ening and stimulating them so that
they readily take care of the food that
Is eaten. It also Increases the flow of
gastric juices, thus getting from the
food the nourishment fhat is neces
sary for health and energy.
The symptoms of Indigestion are
numerous, such as distress after eat
ing, tlatulance, heart-burn, sick head
aches, dizziness and Irritability. These
are all dispelled by a few doses of
Ml-o-na when the trouble la recont,
but just as surely In long standing
and chronic cases If the treatment
Is followed for a reasonable length of
time.
So posltve are the good effects fol
lowing the use of Ml-o-na that the
remedy Is sold by Howell & Jones un
dor an absolute guarantee to refund
the money If it 'should fall to cure.
He presented a subscription paper and
the residents of Mllwaukie responded
liberally. Among those who helped
King, alias Miller, was Charles F.
Risley, who gave the man a check
payable to Miller, and King endorsed
the paper and cashed It In Portland.
He was later found to be an Impostor
and Mr. Risley swore out a warrant,
for his arrest.
Remember the name Doan's and
take no other.
CASE AFTER CASE.
KING MADE EASY MONEY.
He Failed to Use His Correct Name,
However, and Landed In Jail.
F. M. King, of Gladstone, was Tues
day lined ?50 for larceny, and In de
fault of the payment of the amount
was sent to the county jail. King
pleaded guilty. He took the peculiar
and unusual method of raising money
Illegally by assuming the name of Mil
ler and going to Mllwaukie, where he
represented to the people of that
place that he was a resident of Da
mascus, that his house had burned
down and that his wife and Beveral
children were In want and destitute.
Plenty More Like Thlt In Oregon City.
Scores of Oregon City people can
tell you about Doan's Kidney Pills.
Many a happy dltzen makes a public
statement of his experience. Here Is
a case of it. What better proof of
merit can be had than such endorse
ment? Theodore Huerth, living on Park
place, about two miles from Oregon
City, Ore., says;. "I found Doan's
Kidney Pills do Just what Is claimed
for them. For a long time I suffered
a good deal with lameness and aching
over the kidneys and irregularity of
the action of the kidneys. The trou
ble was not severe enough to lay me
up, but, was very annoying and pain
ing me. VI was Induced to try Doan's
Kidney Pills from the recoramenda-,
tlon of a friend, and went to Huntley
Bros.' drug store for them. Their use
absolutely removed the trouble with
the kidneys, strengthened my back
and In every way proved your remedy
to be worthy of all confidence."

DR. KING'S
DAUCHY AND PIERCE GO FREE.
Jury Acquit Them o? Fishing On
Clackamas During Closed Season.
Charles H. Dauchy, Jr., and J. C.
Pierce were acquitted Monday by a
Jury In the Justice Court on a charge
of fishing for salmon on the Clacka
mas River during the closed season.
The Jury was out only -15 minutes,
when they brought In a verdict for
the defendants, wljowere discharged.
The men were tried on the same
charge last week, but the Jury dis
agreed. Deputy Master Fish Warden Brown
and Deputy Game Warden Mack testi
fied for the State, and 'the defendants
were placed on the stand In their own
behalf. They contended that they
had been on the river In a boat and
were not fishing. Attorney George C.
Brownell, for the defense, subpoenaed ,
Captain J. T. Apperson and other well
known citizens of Parkplace, to testify I
as to the character of the defendants,
and this seemed to have considerable
weight with the Jurymen, who were
George Zinserling, George Horton,
John Bradley, Harry J. Harding, Hor
ace Williams and E. R. Williams.
Father Hlllebrand It Honored.
Rev. A. Hlllebrand, pastor of St.
John's Catholic Church, has been ap
pointed by Most Rev. Archbishop Al
exander Christie to the newly-created
position of Dean of the Catholic
Church for Clackamas and Marlon
1 Counties. Oregon City Is really an
1 Episcopal See, and St. John's Church
has been erected Into a deanery. The
unexpected honor Is very gratifying
to the many friends of Father Hllle
brand in this city and elsewhere.
A Higher Health Level.
"I have reached a higher health lev
el since I began using Dr. King's New
Life Pills," writes Jacob Springer, of
West Franklin, Maine. "They keep
my stomach, liver and bowels work
ing just right." If the pills disap
point you on trial, money will be re
funded at Howell & Jones' drug store.

I Deafness Cannot Be Cured
by local applications, as they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There is only one way to cure deaf
ness, and that is by constitutional
remedies. Deafness is caused by an
inflamed conditon of the mucous lin
ing of the Eustachian ' Tube. When
thlB tube is inflamed you have a rum
bling sound or Imperfect hearing, and
when it is entirely closed, Deafness
Is the result, and unless the inflam
mation can be taken out and this tube
restored to its normal condition, hear
ing will be destroyed forever; nine
cases out of ten are caused by Ca
tarrh, which Is nothing but an in
flamed conditon of the mucous sur
faces. We will give One Hundred Dollars
for any case of .deafness, (caused by ca
tarrh) that cannot be cured by Hall's
Catarrh Cure. Send for circulars
