The funeral of the late William1 B.
Shlvely was held Monday morning
at the Portland Crematorum, Rev. J.

Whlle the attendance at the meet
ing was not as large as desired, there
was much enthusiasm over spraying
and prospects for the future. The or
ganization of a berry growers' union
is planned, but no definite action was
taken at Saturday's meeting, but it
is probable that another meeting will
be held at an early date. A committee
was "named to secure apples for an
exhibit at the. annual meeting of the
State Horticultural society, x which
will be held in Portland in January.
, Mr. Brittian, who ... purchased the
Steel place at Meldrum Station, has
created considerable interest in hor
ticultural circles by announcing his In
tention of promoting the establish
ment of a. fruit cannery, providing a
site can be obtained, and a committee
was appointed to confer with the
Board of Trade with the object of ob
taining a site at or near Oregon City.

were not home for Christmas day, but

aged 74 years. He was stricken with
paralysis several years ago. The fu
