AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
the issuance of improvement bonds
in pursuance of an Act of the Legis
lature of the State of Oregon,
known as "The Bonding Act" as
the same has been amended.
Oregon City does ordain as fol
lows: Section 1. That in pursuance of
applications of owners of property
to pay certain assessments
for the improvement of
Ninth Street of Oregon City, Ore
gon, from the East line of Water
Street to a point on said Ninth
Street 150 feet West of the
West line of Main Street,
as provided by an Act of the Leg
islature of the State of Oregon,
passed February 16th, 1893, enti
tled "An Act to provide for the Is
suance of bonds for the improve
ment of streets and the laying of
sewers in incorporated cities, and
for the payment of the costs of
such improvements and laying of
sewers by installments"; as amend
ed by an act of the Legislature of
the State of Oregon, approved Feb
ruary 28th, 1901, entitled, "An Act
to amend Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
and 7, of an Act entitled, "An Act
to provide for the issuance of bonds
for the improvement of streets
and the laying of sewers in incor
porated cities, and for the payment
of the cost of such improvement
and laying of sewers by install
ments," filed in the office of the
Secretary of State February 22nd,
1893; the Mayor and Recorder of
Oregon City are hereby authorized
and directed to execute improve
ment bonds of Oregon City, Oregon,
and deliver the same to the Treas
urer of Oregon City, who shall re
tain said bonds until ordered by the
Finance Committee of the Council
of Oregon City to deliver said
bonds to the successful purchaser
or the same, who shall pay to said
Treasurer the amount bid for said
bonds.
Said bonds are issued for
the payment of a portion
of the cost of Improving
Ninth Street of Oregon City, Ore
gon, from the East line of Water
Street to a point on said Ninth
Street 150 feet West of the West
line of Main Street, and shall not
exceed the sum of One Hundred
and Thirty-three and one one-hund-redths
Dollars in the aggregate.
The denomination of said bonds
shall be as follows, to-wit:
One bond for $133.01.
Said bonds are to be dated the
first day of October, 1907, and shall
mature In ten years from the date
thereof, and be payable In gold coin
of the United States of America,
and bear interest at the rate of six
per cent per annum, Interest paya
ble semi-annually, said Interest to
be evidenced by coupons attached
to said bonds, provided, however,
the right to take up and cancel said
bonds upon the payment of the face
value thereof, with accrued interest
to the date of payment at any semi
annual coupon interest paying peri
od, at or after one year from the
date of said bonds, is hereby reser
ved to Oregon City.
Section 2. The Treasurer of Ore
gon City is hereby directed to cred
it upon receiving the purchase
price of said bonds, the face value
thereof to the improvement fund,
(Ninth" Street Extension) and ac
crued interest and premium to the
general fund.

Oregon City are hereby authorized
and directed to execute improve
ment bonds of Oregon City, Oregon,
and deliver the same to the Treas
urer of Oregon City, who shall re
tain said bonds until ordered by the
Finance Committee of the Council
of Oregon City to deliver said
bonds to. the successful purchaser
of the same, who shall pay to said
Treasurer the amount bid for said
bonds.
'Said bonds are Issued for
the payment of a portion
of the cost of improving
Ninth Street of Oregon City, Ore
gon, from the West line of the right
of way of the Oregon & California
Railroad Company on said Ninth
Street to the East line of
Main Street, and from the West
line of Main Street to a point on
said Ninth Street 150 feet West of
the West line of said Main Street,
and shall not exceed the sum of
Two Hundred Fifty-four and 25-100
Dollars In the aggregate.
The denomination of said bonds
shall be as follows, to-wlt:
One bond for $254.25.
Said bonds are to be dated the
first day of October, 1907, and shall
mature In ten years from the date
thereof, and be payable In gold coin
of the United States of America,
and bear Interest at the rate of six
per cent per annum, Interest paya
ble semi-annually, said Interest to
be evidenced by coupons attached
to said bonds, provided, however,
"-the right to take up and cancel said
bonds upon the payment of the face
value thereof, with accrued interest
to the date of payment at any semi
annual coupon Interest paying peri
od, at or after one year from the
date of said bonds, is hereby reser
ved to Oregon City.
