Agents of the H. S. Wallace Cooper
ative Christian Federation that se
cured options on a lot of land In the
vicinity of the old government Clack
amas river hatchery assert they have
been handicapped In their operations
by the fact that the Harrlman Inter
ests purchased the Corvallls & East
ern railroad with a view of extending
the line Into eastern Oregon. It was
the announced Intention of this feder
ation to build a road Into eastern Or
egon and that It was Important that
they have a foothold at this particu
lar location. In view of the fact that
the federation was thwarted In Its
movements by Harrlmamn's purchase,
the options on the majority of the
land were extended 30 days.
The owners of the properties de
clined to extend the time of the op
tions for a 90-day term, as was asked,
but were willing to give the Chris
tian Federation another opportunity
to make good.

his consent to the marriage.
