The Knights and Ladies of Security
held their regular meeting last uight
at Woodmen of the World Hall, and
the resignation of Fred Williams,
vice-president, was actedj upon, and
Seth O. Ooolidge was elected to fill
the vacancy. Mr. Coolidge was
foimerly foreman in the Enterprise
office, but is at present residing in
Portland. Mr. Williams will move
his family to Portland Saturday,
where they will make their home.

Mr. Tubb has newly painted his
wood honsi.
There is some talk of opening a new
wagon road from Viola to Estacada.
A pretty wedding was solemnizdd
by Rev. Patton at Grandpa Miller's
Saturday evening, Nov. 17. Miss
Lulu Miller and J. R. Hamilton were
the happy couple united. Their rnmy
friends unite in best wishes for their
future happiness. Mr. and Mrs.
Hamilton have been popular in sooial
and religious circles ; we are glad to
know they are to remain at Viola.
Rev. Patton is soliciting founds to
build M. E. Church at Highland.
They intend a ereot a $1200 house.
James Sevier is preparing to build a

We are having a spell of bad weather
and the farmers are wondering when
it will ever clear up again.
J. L Murdock sold bis place to a
newcomer for five thousand dollars
We are sorry to loose a good neighbor,

J. W. Smith and family are moving
to the golden state of sunset this
week ; goodby Jim.
John Lowry of Wilsonville was up
to see his father, Willism Lowry, who
is quite low with brighta disease.
Viotor Grim of this place was doing

A. H. Reynold's now house is
nearly complete.
Fred Waloh's new house is about
complete and he has dedicated it with
a bright new boy. ,

land, were visiting friends here this

son, an 84 pound girl, Saturday,

U. S. Armstrong, while felling a
tree was struck in the eye by a frag'
ment of a sledge. He went to the
Good Samaritan hospital at Portland
and it was found necessary to remove
the eye entirely In order to save the
other.
W. W. Irvine is having his ware
house moved from the railroad
grounds onto his own proprety.
The 20th Century Grange, No. 841
hold their regular meetings on the 2nd
and 4th Saturday at 8 p. ni., of eaoh
month. Intreesting programs are
rendered at each meeting, which
accounts for the good attendance.
Miss Augusta Randall, principal of
the school, spent Saturday and Sunday
at ber borne in Oregon Oity.
Men are at work painting the water

covered from his long illness caused

to arrange for giving a dance on the
seoond Saturday night in December.
Good music will be furnished and

annual election of officers for the en
