J SOLD AND RECOMMENDED BY Belief Is General That Price Will Reach 20 Cents This Year. Clackamas County hop growers are holding their hops for 8 raise in the maiket, which is now fluctuating be tween 14 and 15 cents, with slow movements. With nominal quotations as high a 18 cents, no buyers can be found nt this figure and it is apparent that there is a disposition on the part of the outside dealers to break the market down. Several of the local hopnien have contracted, but wherever it is possible, they aie holding tight, with, the firm belief that hops will go as high as 20 cents, and perhaps higher. It is true that a few are taking no chances but are selling immediately after baling at 14 and lo cents. The loss of$150,000 by the Krebs Brothers two years ago has beenjn warning to many growers. Krebs bought thousands of pounds of Imps at 30 cents, with the expectation ttia it would go to 85 or 40, but the market settled and the brokers knocked it down. George Randall left Monday for Salom to endeavor to effect tho sale of his 1806 crop, which is now being baled. Mr Randall has b 'en offered 15 cents for his hops, but lie is hold ing lor 16 or better. He has 200 bales, totaling close to 20,000 pounds, which he secured from about 25 acres. Oregon City, with its vast mills and factories and its payroll of more than $1,000,000 per yearjis becoming more and more attractive to capital. City real estate has 'been moving lively during the past year, and several new bnildiugB have been erected, among them being the two story brick adjoin ing the city hall on the property that was purchased from the Jaggar Bros. Only two weeks ago the three tory building on tlie corner of Main and Sixth streets, now cccupited by the Wilhelm Tell house, and famed as the me tiug plate of the first Oregon legislature, was sold to a brewing oompany There is piomise now of one of the biggest deals transacted here in several years. AugOBt Erickson, well known in Portland and Astoria, and proprietor of a stock farm near this city, has been here for more than a week endeavoring to arrange for the purchase of a large peice ot business property. He has his eyes on the quarter block on the corner of Main and Eight streets, owned by the Roog estate and bIbo would like to buy the Barclay property, which is considered one ot the most desirable locations in Oregon City. As yet, no deal has been closed, and Mr. Eriokson declares that the price asked- by the owners of these properties is too high, or at least higher than he wants to pay. The latter is probably true, but in the natural order of progress, all city property is advancing. The valuts have been low and are gradually reacning a point wiiere the property is being held for something like the real worth of the land and buildings. Mr. Erickson is retioent in regard to lhs intentions in tne event of his acquiring property in Oregon.City. It is currently reported, however, that he contemplates building a theatre and a liquor house. He has disposed of his holdings in Portland. Mean while negotiations are still pending and some agreement may be reached. Sick Headache Cured. Sick headache iB caused by d range nieut of the stomac-hjjand jby indi gestion. Brewing Company Now Owns Historic Building at Oregon City, The old William Tell Hotel at Sixth and Main streets, Oregon City, one of the historic buildings of the State, was sold bv Qrindstaff & Schalk, of Portland. The strnoture, which is a three-story frame, was the first building to be nsed for public purposes in the state. ' In the early days it was owned by Theodore Wy gunt and was the home of the Territorial Legislature which met there iu 1849, 1850 and 1851, before the removal of tho capitol to Salom. The building is now used as a lodg ing hones and saloon. It has been owned by Lewis Fener who has sold it to the Gambriuus Brewing Com pany for $13,000. It occupies a site of 09x100. THE REASON WHY. " Continued Mr. Hautley. "For centurios cod liver oil has been recog nized as the grandest of all body builling agents for wasted human strength and vitality, but On account of the nauseating and system-clogging oil which euveloped its curative properties few could take it with benefit. "Iu Vinol you get in a concentrated form every one of the curative and strength-creating elements of cod liver oil actually taken from fresh ccds' livers, the. useless. syBtrm-clogging oil eliminated, anl topic iron added.
