The Courier office was honored, this week by a visit from its Springwater correspondent, A. M. Shibley, who turned over the following notes of his thriving little town. Mr. Shibley is going to take a trip East soon, and will contribute a few notes of his trip as he makes his journey. Following are the items of news left by Mr. Shibley: On Sunday the mercury stood at 100 degrees. Mr. and Mrs. James Shibley and the twins are taking an outing at the coast. The Rev. Blair and his family are taking a vacation. Miss Eva Lewollcn is at home on a visit. She has been absent in Sherman County for some time. Mr. Deyons, of Seattle, and Miss Minta Hickman, of Willamette, were the guests of Mrs. L. E. Bard on Sun day. Threshing is pretty well along, and grain is turning out fairly well. Ed (,'losner has a field of oats which yielded 81 bushels. Dad Eidgway hns wheat which is running 57 bushels, which shows what ' thorough cultivation will do in Springwater. The Springwater carpenter, Earl Shibley, took the. overland train Mon day evening for Southern Oregon pre sumably to get a helpmate. In ending his budget of news, Mr. Shibley adds that he had strawberries and cream for his dinner, but does not say when, so this office is left in a blank state, of stupefaction. It is presumed that he meant Sunday dinner, but there is a possibility that it 'was Monday, or it might have been last June.
