The father grasped his bov, but both fell from the wagon and the wheels ran over the lad, breaking his leg in two places. The team then raced madly up the Btroeo, the wagon careening wildly from Bide to sido, and when opposite the puflt- offlce, David Williams rushed out, and, aftr a frantic chase, succeeded in getting hold of the reins aud stop ping the infuriated animals in front of Huntley's. Oregon City has great natural and soenic beauty that has boon marred by carelessness and the absence of a place to dispose of the constant accumulation of rub bish, but the council recently rented an old gravel-pit on the Albright pas ture for a garbgae dump, and now there is no excuse for dirty yards aud back alleys.
