All employes who have been re- celvlng $1.75 per day were raised to $2 and all $2 men were raised to $2.25. Five hun- dred men are affected by the in- crease. This action has been under consideration for the past two months. Early in April Gener- al Manager N. R. Mr. Lang re-. turned home Tuesday night and Wednesday mroning a com- mittee of ten of the strikers called on him, but he refused to treat with them. He told, thein they could go back to work and he would then confer with them as . employes, but he absolutely declined to take up the proposition with men who had walked out of the plant during the absence .of the man- ager.
