J .Gary, of Willamette, talked on "How to Keep Up the Interest of the School. " W. A. Hedges, chairman of the board of direotors, made a pleasing Bpeeoh'of welcome to the visitors, and this concluded the program. Miss Alice Kirkldied early Thursday morning at the home of D. E. Frost, on Seventh street, aged 24 years, after a week's illness of pneumonia. Her parents reside at Highland. Miss Kirk had been staying in fortland, hut came here about one month ago to visit Mr. . and Mrs. Frost, and was taken ill while here. The body was taken to Highland for interment.
