The damage was made good by the party engaged in the business. Our road boss has engaged H. Daugherty for a few days, improving the roads whilst the weather is good. J. Brier, of Needy, went to the mines on Ogle Creek. On his return with O. S. Boyles' three horses, he lost two pack horses and left them out all night with packs on. He went in the morning to search for them, and found them all right in a patch of crnnA crrass. Mr. Wingfield had his right hand cut on a cylinder tooth inflicting a serious wound. Kirk Rebekah Lodge held its regu lar meeting Tuesday evening, j Mrs. Ring will entertain the ladies i of the Ladies' Aid Society of Barlow ' on Thursday evening. The Sabbath school and ladies of the M. E. Church will give a dinner and entertainment on Thanksgiving. The city council met Monday even ing, being their regular meeting night, and it has been resolved to have city water works. . CENTRAL POINT. Who says that webfoot can't have good weather in November? Farmers have been taking advant age of the continuous good weather by having all their spuds dug, and nearly all their wheat sowed. Charles Foster and partner, Mr Barnett, have been very busy this week cleaning house. Mr. Foster bought a new range cook stove, which don't look as if he was intending' to batch this winter. Grandpa Veteto visited his daugh ter, Mrs. Newt Creitzer, Sunday. Mrs. Stauber has been on the sick list, but is improving. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Scheer visited at Twilight Hall Sunday. John Seiders is visiting his sister-in-law at Sylvan for a couple of weeks. We are sorry to hear of the serious sickness of Miss Gussie Randal, at Salem, with typhoid fever, fcrs. Ran dal was called to her bedside. Mr. George Rider and family have moved back to their old Hog Hollow home. Major Walte, the new general sec retary of the Northern Paclflo Divis ion of the Salvation Army, will con duct special meeting, Monday, Nov. 13th, 8 p. m., at the Salvation Army Hall.
