OREGON CITY COURIER, FRIDAY, MARCH 25 1904 BABLOW. The St, Patrick's ball given the night ( of the 17th instr, by the Twentieth Cen tury Grange, was a swell affair, and if the shade of the good old St. Patrick was around he muat have thought it rather dry ; as there did not seem to be a drop of old rye, nor a shillallah to be, had. The dance and supper was well patronized.and netted the Grange $20 40. Miss M. S. Barlow was on hand with her troop of nine pretty girls and gave a very interesting flag drill. It is reported that the M. W. Shep pard General Merchandising Co, has sold out to a Portland firm. If it is true a great many of their old customers will be sorry, for they certainly gave excel lent satisfaction by keeping a neat, clean and inviting stock of dry goods and groceries and Bessie knew how to sell them. We are at a loss to know why they would sell out. We have the ac commodating, Clever Freeman with ua yet. D'mocrats and Republicans pleaBe take notice: The Socialists of Barlow have organized a Socialist Club with R. ' K. Bratton temporary secretary. First issue of the Oregon Sunday Journal was fine.
