Henry Hedges, of Barlow, was an Oregon City visitor the first of the week. Rberman Burford left on Saturday for Victoria, B. C, to assume the duties of government immigration inspector. ' , Hon. Georje W. Grace is seriously ill with rhuematism and has been confined o his bed much of the time during the oast two weeks. Roy Kelly, who has been in the vicinity of Astoria holding down a good job, is home visiting his parents, Mr. dud Mrs. H. L. Kelly. Hall, of The Dalles, js in the city to visit George Crooks, whom he has not seen since they parted in Cali fornia 18 years ago. It seems to him that George is taller by two inches than he was then. Willis Johnson was visiting friends relatives in Oregon City on Wednesday. Mr. Johnson haB just arrived from Til lamook with 200 sheep in line condition, and brought thsm to his father's place at. The ledge on which the claims are lo cated is of colossal proportions, its width being, as far as ascertained, 60 feet, and perhaps it is 300. It is a ridge of copper ire, base from the grass roots.
