Not a few have learned this to their cost. Every winter injury and even death are reported as the result of this carelessness. But there is a far more popular way of courting danger. Every man or woman who neglects a cough is inviting sickness, and many a fatal sickness has its beginning in a slight cough. The timely use of Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery will cure the cough. Even when the cough is obstinate and there is hemorrhage with emaciation and weakness, "Golden Medical Discovery" always helps and almost always cures. " I wa troubled with a bad cold, which settled on my lungs and left me with a miserable cough,' rite tea Mr. Joseph D. Burns, of .ir8 Huestis Street, Ithaca. New York. I used two bottles of your ' Golden Medical Discov ery,' after which my cough disappeared entirely. I can not recommend your medi cine too highly." Accept no substitute for "Golden Medical Discov ery." There is nothing "just as good" for dis eases of the stomach, blood, and lungs. Sub stitution means a little more profit to the dealer but a loss to you. A woman who baa had experience with this disease, tells how to prevent any dangerous conseq ences from it. She says: Our three children took whooping cough last summer, our baby boy being only three months old, and owing to our giving them Chamberlain's Cough Remedy, they lost none of their Elumpness and came out in much better ealth than other children whose par ents did not use this remedy. Our old est little girl would call lustily for cough syrup between whoops. Jessie Pinkey Hall, Springville, Ala. This remedy is or sale by U. A. Harding. Marquam. Ti.e greatest danger from colds and grip Is their resul'iug in pneumonia. It reasonable care is used, however, and Chamberlaiu's Cough Remedy taken, all danger will be avoided. Among the tens of thousands who have UBed this reme d lor these diseases we have yet to learn of a Binglo cuse having resulted in pneumonia, which shows' conclusively that it ia a certain- oreventive of tlmt dangerous disease. Much Is being said about the referen dum on tl.e Lewis and Clark appropia lioo nowadays, if it is a matter of dot- ill lars and cents I think nobody need worry much as the benefits derived from the fair will arxount to more than the tax. On the valuation cf 1902 the tax will be about $2 94, on a thousand valu ation. In other words a person assessed $1,000 in 1902, his portion of the fair tax would le $2.94, a very small matter compared with the benefits derived. I notice also that some are circulating a petition to repeal the act of the last Legislature in regard to exemptions. I think if the people thoroughly un derstood that question they would not sign the petition. Every man that has the protection of the United States and enjoys the privilege should not object when he is called upon to pay his just dues. Now, fellow citizens, don't sign the petition for a referendum vote unless you intend to vote to repeal, for no doubt a good many sign just to get rid of the person circulating the petition. Kidney trouble preys upon the mind, discouragesandlessensambition; beauty, vigor anu tuccuui ness soon disappear when the kidneys are out of order or dis eased. ' Kidney trouble has become so prevalent that it is not uncom mon for a child to be born afflicted with weak kidnevs. If the child urinates too often, if the urine scalds the flesh, or if, when the child reaches an age when it should be able to control the passage, it is yet afflicted with bed-wet-ting depend upon it, the cause of the dim culty is kidney trouble, and the first step should be towards the treatment of these important organs. This unpleasant trouble is due to a diseased condition of the kidneys and bladder and not to a habit as most people suppose.
