Hypnotic at Spokane, lies Hans
bleep. Younger. Since Tuesday
ninht the man has been in
a trance like sleep, and the efforts of
physicians to overcome the influence is
without avail. Who put Younger into
this sleep, and for what purpose it was
done, is a question that is puzzling the
authorities. Physicians says that if the
influence is not withdrawn soon Young
er's mind will be affected, as in ail
crees ot continued hypnotic state the
mind is weakened. A local hypnotist
named Rynearson is accused by two
persons of placing Younger to sleep on a
variety theater stage Tuesday night.
Rynearson denies the charge. Two
physfcians yesterday applied many of
the tests need to arouse persons from a
cataleptic state. All efforts failed and
both physicians declare that unless the
person who put Younger to sleep will
remove his influence, there is no telling
when the man will recover from his un
natural condition. Younger is a pow
erful man aged about 30. and worked at
harvesting during the summer and fall.
Tuesday night he went to a variety
theater, and on leaviag went to his
room. He was not seen again until
Thursday evening, when he came down
stairs half-dressed and said there were
snakes in his room. Edward Leii,
the cierk, knowing that Younger was
not drinking man, gammoned the po
lice. The man's body was then in a
semi-rigid condition. He takes food
during semi-consciou intervals. Hie
feet and hands are limber, but the rest
of bis body is in a state of lemi-rigidity.

The Grand Canon of the Arltaman.
Easiest of access among all the canons
of Colorado, being situated on the main
line of the Denver & Rio Grande between
Canon Cit and Salida in the front range
of the Rockies, it U the moat spectacu
lar, awe-inspiring ami magnificent.
Down this ighty cleft in the heart of
granite rock-barrier rush the raging
waters of the Arkansas liver, lashed
into foaming fury and dashed into spurn-
has ne-1 ing spray by its swift desce it thruuiih
the tortuous Oeule. ho narrow is the
passage at one point that there was no
room lor both road and river, and Ihere-
fi re a curiously constructed bridge of
steel had to be thrown lengthwise of
the stream, suspended from iroi sup
ports mortised into the canon walls on
each side to the right and lelt.' All right
here can be seen the climax of all the
canon's grandeur, that which has been
aptly called "The Royal Gorge." For
2000 feet the stolid monoliths soar up
ward five times as lofty as the Wash
ington monument, the highest perma
nent structure reared by the hand of
man. No words can adequately describe
the magnificence of the scene. Only
those who have beheld its glories can
appreciate them

A Little Boy'a Life Saved
I have a few words to say regarding
Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. It
saved my little boy's life and I feel that
I cannot praiie it enough. I bought a

it the poor baby could hardly breathe.
I gave the medicine as directed every
ten minntes until he "threw up" and
then I thought sure he was going to
choke to death. We bad to pull the
phlegm out oi bis month in great long
