New Tax Law Gives Taxpayers a
Chance to Save 3 Per Vent.
It will be of interest to Oiackaraas
county taxpayers to know something of
the provisions of the new tax law. If
vou pay your taxes on'or belore March
liith, there will be a rebate of 3 pe
cent; if paid up to and including the
first Monday in April, there will be no
n bate, and no penalty or interest will
be adtled. I! not paid by the first Mon
day iu April, the taxes will be delin
quent, and there will be a penalty of 10
per cent, and interest on the tax at the
rate of 12 per cent per annum. If one-

Hypnotic at Spokane, lies Hans
bleep. Younger. Since Tuesday
ninht the man has been in
a trance like sleep, and the efforts of
physicians to overcome the influence is
without avail. Who put Younger into
this sleep, and for what purpose it was
done, is a question that is puzzling the
authorities. Physicians says that if the
influence is not withdrawn soon Young
er's mind will be affected, as in ail
crees ot continued hypnotic state the
mind is weakened. A local hypnotist
named Rynearson is accused by two
persons of placing Younger to sleep on a
variety theater stage Tuesday night.
Rynearson denies the charge. Two
physfcians yesterday applied many of
the tests need to arouse persons from a
cataleptic state. All efforts failed and
both physicians declare that unless the
person who put Younger to sleep will
remove his influence, there is no telling
when the man will recover from his un
natural condition. Younger is a pow
erful man aged about 30. and worked at
harvesting during the summer and fall.
Tuesday night he went to a variety
theater, and on leaviag went to his
room. He was not seen again until
Thursday evening, when he came down
stairs half-dressed and said there were
snakes in his room. Edward Leii,
the cierk, knowing that Younger was
not drinking man, gammoned the po
lice. The man's body was then in a
semi-rigid condition. He takes food
during semi-consciou intervals. Hie
feet and hands are limber, but the rest
of bis body is in a state of lemi-rigidity.
