road :
In the matter of the report of Chae
Andrews, H Andrews and H Cook, view
ers appointed at the last term of tins
board to view ana locate a county roau
situated in ClackamflB county, Oregou
and described in full on page 38 of this
journal, said viewers filed th ir report
showing that they had met on the 15th
day of May 1901, a day named in the
notice served upon them and were duty
sworn by subscribing to a written oath
of uflice administered by Jotin W Mel
drum, deputy county surveyor, after
which tbey proceeded to tne designated
place and did view and caused to be sur
veyed by Baid John W Meldrum, deputy
county surveyor, the above vdescribed
road, xney atso men tne neid notes and
plat of the survey ; said viewers report
favorably to the establishing of said road
as viewed and surveyed for the reasons
that it is a good practical route and of
public utility ; said report was read on
yesterday and now on this day on its
second reading, and it appearing to the
board that there is no remonstrance or
petition for damages filed, and being
satisfied that said road will be of public
utility. It is ordered and judged that tue
field notes and plat of said survey be re
corded and in all respects approved and
that the said view and survey be estab
lished as a county road and that the ex
penses of said view and survey be paid
by Clackamas county and the clerk is
hereby ordered to issue the necessary
notice to the supervisor of the district or
districts in which said road lies to open
and work the same,

journal, said viewers filed their report

In the matter of work on the Everhart
hill:
This matter coming on and the Board
being fully advised, It Is ordered that W
H Engle, road supervisor ol district No
26, commence and work the bill recently
surveyed and known as the ''Everhart
Hill," by grubbing, clearing and wont
ing said lull, with work subscribed by
citizens of said district No 26, and of
Clackamas county, and by working what
is known as the Engle petition first.
In the nutter of the assessments of
lands belonging to the State Land Board :
Now at this time comes on to be heard
the application of the State Laud Board
for the cancellation ol certain assessments
of lands belonging to it, and upon infor
mation and representations of M L
Chamberlin cletk of said board and it ap
pearing from the records that in the year
1898 there was assessed to Geo I'fiester
land which is described at page 32, vol
ume 6, of the recoid of delinquent lax
salee for said year, and that said land
was assessed at $32.36 including costs,
and that said land was sold to Clackamas
county for delinquent taxes for said year,
and it further appearing thHt said land
was assessed to Schaflers Bros for the
year 1899 at $32.44 including costs as ap
pears at page 33, volume 7, of the sales
book for delinquent taxes for said year
and was sold to Clackamas county for
taxes for both of said years.
That the said land belonged to the
State Land Board and was wrongfully
and unlawfully assessed to said parties,
And the Board being fully advised in the
premises, It is ordered and adjudged
that the lien or claim of Clackamas
countv against said land for said taxes
be and the same is hereby cancelled.
In the matter of the assessment of
property belonging to State Land Board :
Now at this time comes on to be heard
the petition of Anton fichafferg asking
for the cancellation of the taxes assessed
against the property described at page
387, line 12, of assessment roll for the
year 1900, And it appearing that said
property belonged to the State Land
