Many inquiries have been made at this office as to whether a decision had been made or not in the matter of the contested land grants. No decision has yet been made by the United States su preme court, but one is expected soon. The following senate joint memorial, in troduced at the last session of the legit lature by Senator Brownell, and passed, is taken from the house journal : BENATK JOINT MEMORIAL NO. 1.
