Robertson, contestant, against homestead entry

14, township 8 s, range 5 , by Oliver M. Eby, oon
teslee, In which it is alleged that "the said Oliver
M. Eby has wholly abandoned said olalnand
that he has not resided on the same lor the past
three years, nor has he made any improvements
thereon during sat i time, nor has ho cultivated
the same during said time, or any one acting for
hint, that his absence has not been due to his em
ployment In the military or naval servioe of the
United States In time of war," said parties are
hereby notified to appear, respond and offer evi

on August 15, 18U9, before the regisior and receive

that after due dilligence personal service ol this

16, 1899, having been filed in this office by
Orville Robertson, contestant, against homestead
entry No. 10542, made March 2, 1893, lor the a w
section 24, township I s, range 6 e, by William
N. Tatro, contestee. In which it is alleged that
"the said William N. Tatro has wholly abandoned
said claim (or more than two years prior hereto
and that he h as not resided on said claim for
more than two years last past and during said
time he has not cultivated or improved said
claim, nor any one acting for him; that his ab
sence has not been due to his employment in th
military or naval service of the United States in
time of war," said parties are hereby notified to
appear, respond and offer evidence touching said
allegation at 10 o'clock a. m. on August 15, 1899,
before the register and receiver of the United
States land office in Oregon City, Oregon.
The said contestant having, In a proper affl l
vit, filed June 19, 1899, set forth facts which show
