Jno. Kruse, who has been ill for pome

Washington county, and brother and
sister, of Tigardville, were visiting rela
tives in this vicinity Sunday.
Mrs. James Turner has been quite ill,
but at present is some what better.
Miss Katie Priester, of Maple Lane, is
staying with her sister, Mrs. Jp.mefl
Turner, during her illness.
Miss Lydia Phenning, of Portland, was
visiting friends here the past week.
Miss Dena Peters is keeping house for
her brother, Jake", an enterprising young
merchant of Wilsonville. Miss Dena
and her brother are expecting to go to
the coast in the near future.
It is reported that a ball is to be given
at the large hall of Peters & Pepper the
30 inst.
Charles Hanson, of Wilsonville, has
been engaged to teach the fall term of

and under the seal of the above entitled court.in
the above entitled cause, to me duly directed and
dated the 7th;day of July, 198, upon a judgmtnt,
rendered and entered in said court on the 27th
day of April, 1K08, in favor of Henry E. Hayes,
plaintiff, and against William Butcher, James A.
Wells and Bertha Wells, his wife, defendants,
for the sum of 334,00, witli interest thereon at
the rate of lumper cent per annum Irom the 81st
day of July, 1'J5, and the further sum of 40, as
attorney's fee, and the further sum of 810 costs
and disbursements, and the costs of and upon
this writ, commanding me to make sale of the
following described real property, situated in
the county of Clackamas, state of Oregon, to-wit:
The west half of the south west quarter
i) and lotB three (8). and four (4) in section
twenty-nine (29) township 8 south, range2eist
of the Willamette meridian, containing 150 acres,
situated in Clackamas county, Btate of Oregon,
save and except from the above description, 60
acres sold to M, C, Wrigley on July Kith, 1881,
and recorded on pagcM9, book S, record of deeds
of Clnokamas county, Oregon. It is further
ordered that In offering said land for sale, the
sheriff shall first offer the same minus the fol
lowing portion of the same, beginning at the
north east corner of the .71 Horo tmct sold to M.
O. Wrigleyj running thence we'tfiOrorts; thence
north ii4 rods; thence east 50 rods; thence Booth
64 rods to the place of beginning: also a twenty
foot right of way along the south line of the tract
deeded to James A. Wells. If the same does not
sell for enough to Batisfy this Judgment and
decree, then the Bald sheriff is ordered to sell the
whole of said land described in said mortgage as
provided In this decree.
Now, therefore, by virtue of said execution,
judgment order and decree, and in compliance
with the commands of said writ, I will, on
SATURDAY, AUGUST 6th, I89h,
at the hour of one o'clock, P. M., at the front
door of the County Court House in the Citv of
Oregon City, In said County and State, sell at
public auction, subject to redemption, to the
highest bidder, for U. S. gold coin, cash in hand,
all the right, title and interest which the within
named defendants or either of thein, had on the
date of the mortgage herein or since had In or to
the above described property or any part thereof
to satisfy said execution, judgment order, de
