Lust Wednesday night at 8:30 as tho peacbful inhabitants of Adkins mill were retiring to their rest there came a wild burst of melody from down the road, which proceeded from the throats of two Macksburg gentlemen, who had been taking in tho town and seeing the sights. It is now fashionable to wear two brass rings instead of one. The picnic at Canby last Saturday was not a very good success. The little son of John Denison, who fell out of a wagon and broke his arm over a week ago, is getting along nicely. Casper Ramsby and daughter, Lillie, came over from their present home at Buena Vista on a visit last week. Miss Lillie remains the guest of Willio John son for some weeks. E. A. Wright returned Saturday from a two weeks trip through Polk and Marion counties and reports confidence not fully restored amongst those he met, and prosperity, the daughter of confix dence, as being born dead. , W. The citizens of Canyon Creek road precinct are kicking because the county court did not allow the bill for corduroy presented by Koad Supervisor O. 0. Hubbard. The men who got out the timber at 75 cents per hundred are all poor men who depended on this money to pay their taxes. What a economical (?) gang our county Courtis. Johnson of the g. o. p. must get hiB $4 per day, but hard working tax payers who helped improve our roads at an average of less than 75c per day, why, their bill can wait. May 27th. Asti Hanna.
