Revenue of Sandy; L. 0. Metzger in pluce of W. P. Kirchem, gold bugs, resigned. The committee has been changed throughout and now consist of Chicago platform democrats. A Bryan silver club was organized at Beaver Creek Saturday evening, by P. F. May and T. B. Hankins. Hon. Geo. Chamberlain will speak at Needy on Friday at 1 p. m. and at Oanby at 7:30 p. m. for Bryan and silver. .Mr. Purker of Portland will speak at New Era on Saturduy, Hon. John Myers will speak at Mink on Sat urday evening. Judge A. S. Bennett will speak in Oregon City on next Wed nesday evening and Hon. M.L.Olmstead on the 30th. Ex-Sheriff 0. W. Ganong was at the republican headquarters in Oregon City one day last week when 'one of the several McKinley men present offered to bet him $10 that McKinley would carry Glackamas county. Mr. Ganong said: "It you want to bet I will put up $1000 on Uryan carrying the county." He had no takers. Ganong has made a trip through the county and knew that it was a safe bet. An Oregon Cityite asked a republican wlwt he thought "16 to I" stood for, and the republican said, "16 men to 1 job." The other said "I'm glad of that as there are now 32 men for each job." . ' "' A poll of the voters cf Beaver Creek precinct by two republicans is as follows : Bryan 75, McKinley 17. Four of the McKinley men are doubtful too. Garfield precinct will go for Bryan After considerable effort on-the part of Hanna's committee in Multnomah county but 405 G. A. R. men have signed the McKinley goldbug roll. There are over 1100 veterans in the county. Over half of the soldiers in the Rose- bury home are for Bryan. REPUBLICAN NOTES. Tho goldbug McKinley club have secured the store room in Oregon City bank block for campaign headquarters. The Hanna suck has arrived and a cam paign brass band organized. ' T. T. Geer, republican candidate for presidential elector, will speak in Clack amas county on the following dates: Marquam, October 5 at 1:30 p. m.; Needy, October 5, 7 p. m. ; Wilsonville, October 6, 7 :30 p. m. ; Canby, October 7,7:30 p.m. Senator George 0. Brownell, will will speak at Forest Grove on Tuesday evening, October 6. He will speak at Portland on Friday of this week. A. S.
