During the course of this investigation offi cers learned that the victim had become involved in a disturbance and was stabbed. A friend of the victim was armed and fi red a round from his gun to scare off the individuals who had stabbed the victim. This person lost control of the fi rearm which was re- covered by the either the suspect or individual associated with the sus- pect. This group fl ed, fi ring another round from the gun in an unknown direction. Offi cers continue to in- vestigate this incident. The victim’s wounds are non-life-threatening and he is recovering at an area hos- pital. ###Original Message### On February 14, 2015 at 8:39 p.m., North Precinct offi cers received a call stating that an individual had been shot in the area of N.E. Ma- rine Drive and N.E. 2nd Avenue. Offi cers arrived and located an in- dividual with a wound consistent with a gun shot in his back. Offi cers secured the area, obtained medical assistance for the injured individ- ual and began an investigation. As the investigation developed offi cers learned that while at least one gun- shot had been fi red at the incident, the injuries to the victim may have been caused by a knife. The vic- tim, suffering non-life-threatening wounds, is currently being treated and investigators hope to gather more information on the nature of his wounds shortly. While it is early in the investigation offi cers do not believe this incident is gang-relat- ed. The investigation is still ongo- ing. GANG ENFORCEMENT TEAM RESPONDS TO NE 18 & ROSA PARKS WAY Portland Police Bureau On Friday February 13, 2014, at 3:05 p.m., North Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team offi cers responded to the area of Northeast 18th Avenue and Rosa Parks Way on the report of multiple gunshots heard in the area. Offi cers arrived in the area and located damage from gunfi re to a residence in 6400 Northeast 18th Avenue. Witnesses described a vehicle stopped on the corner and a suspect fi ring at the vehicle. The vehicle sped out of the area and the suspect ran away from the scene. The vehicle is de- scribed as a green smaller car and the suspect on foot is described as an African American male in his late 20s or early 30s, wearing all black clothing, carrying a gun as he ran northbound on 17th Avenue from Highland Street. A gunshot victim was taken by private vehicle to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. At this point, the victim’s condition is not known. The Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force are continuing to actively investigate gang and gun crimes in the City of Portland. ARMED ROBBERY AT DINER Portland Police Bureau February 13th, 2015 9:44 AM On Thursday February 12, 2015, at 3:56 p.m., North Precinct offi cers responded to the report of an armed robbery at Cruise-In Diner, located at 7731 NE 33rd Drive in the Sun- derland Neighborhood. Offi cers ar- rived in the area and spoke to the employee who told police that the suspect was armed with a knife and ordered her to lock herself in the backroom. The suspect took an un- disclosed amount of cash then left the area on foot. Several offi cers checked the area but did not locate anyone matching the suspect’s de- scription. The suspect is described as an African American male in his early 30s, 5’11”, wearing a great sweatshirt and blue jeans.
