GEORGE W. SELLIOK
George W. Scllick passed away
at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
T. II. Shells, 713 S. Jersey street
on Thursday evening, Dec. M,
following a short illness. Mr.
Selliek was born in Montgomery
county, New York, January 15,
1811!, and spent the early part of
his life in that state. On Dec.
22, 1870 ho was married to Carrie
Adams in Plmyra, N.Y. In 1883
they moved to Watcrtown, South
Dakota where they resided until
coming to St Johns in 1!)UG. Mr.
and Mrs. Selliek celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary on
December 22, 1020. Surviving
him besides his widow,
Carrie Sollick, are his
daughter, Mrs. T. II. Shells,
and two brothers, II. W. Sollick
of 015 N. Syracuse St., and Cynu
H. Selliek of Watcrtown, S. D.
Funeral services were held from
the home of the (daughter, on
Saturday aftrnoon. Rev. W. 15.
Kloster, pastor of Pioneer Meth
odist church, officiated. Inter
incut was made in Rost cemetery.
Mr. Sollick united with the
Methodist church in his youth
and was a member of tho A. O.
U. W.
Tho Gleaner Sunday school
class of Pioneer Methodist Sun
day school aro preparing the
"Old Maids' Convention" which
they will givo somo timo in
January.

which were tho price of admis
sion to thisentertainment.
Included on tho program were
selections by the James John
high school orchestra; song by
the George school chorus ; a short
play hy the Sitton school; solo
by Lieutenant R. L. Crane, ac
companied by Mrs. IJernieo. 31c

Howard; reading by Doth
Uoomsluiter; and a solo by Miss
Lola Murphy, accompanied by
Mrs. MeCall. And last, but no
moans least, Santa Claus arrived
with useful gifts for a number of
the members of the club includ

rattles, dolls and tops; J. N.
Edlofscn who was presented with
a tin horn to call his help to
