To illustrate: A received from his business nnd other1 sources $5,000 during the year 1921, but his deductible ex pellees for the .year nggregated $4,500. His net income being less & $1,000, A would not have trpay an income tax. However, ho is required under the law to file nn income tax return if his gross income was $5,000 or more regardless of whether or not ho realizes any profit.
