Mary IS. Koenccke died at her home, 424 IS. Richmond street Dec. 17th aged 58 years, G mouths and 17 days. Cancer and dropsy was the cause of her death, She had resided here about 8 years. Sur viving her are five sous and two duughters, Funeral services were leld Sunday at the chapel of the St. Johns Undertaking Co., Dr. II. Cement work for the foundations of the new James John high school was begun in the week just closed by George Jackson general con tractor. The new school will cost approximately $240,000 and is to be ready for use at the beginning of the next school year. I he main building now under construction is to be 200 by 200 feet in size, with two stories and basement of brick aud concrete, with red pressed brick for the exterior walls. A oiler room 50 by 07 feet in size, of brick and concrete, is to be erected at the rear of the main building. St. Johns United Evangelical church, Rev. J.
