V I THE ST. JOHNS REVIEW A. V. Mnrklc Hdltor Published Friday of Each Wee 404 N. Jersey St. Photic Col. 32 Subscription pries $1.60 oar year r i r - rrTT TiiK Rrvibw is entered at txst office In Portland, OreRon, ns mail matter of the second class under the Act of Con rfrcos of March 3, 1879. Parties desiring advertising should arrange for their space early. It is the steady advertiser that secures the steady business There is no business in St Johns that is so poor it cannot afford to advertise in the loca paper. The Kcvievv has done a n its power to produce an adver tismg medium that is unexcelled anywhere, and has succeeded 1 ioing so. There is no better nd vortising medium anywhere than the Review. That all the bus ness men do not tako advantage of this fact is no fault of ours, Advertising is the one thing that will keep trade at home, Peon are prono to buy where they see articles advertised, lhe price o advertising in the Kevicw has been made as low as is possibl to produce a newspaper, in fact it has been loo low, as the pa per several times has been put out at a loss. We have refrained from soliciting advertising Portland because wo have wantei to make the paper as local as possible, It would seem that every business man in St. Johns would be represented in the He view columns, but there are number here that are passing the opportunity by. borne papers, on a subscription basis, with a less circulation, are charging higher prices than the Review with its free local distribution. It is the steady advertiser that gets the best results. And it costs less for advertising space, as the price now is somewhat moie for the occasional advertiser than the steady one. Let every business, big or small, be rep resented in the lluviow. The opportunity is at your door; what aro you going to do about it, Mr. Non-Advertiser Why not aid us in getting out a larger and ootter paper, and help your business at the same time The St. Johns branch of the Whitney Iloy.s Chorus iot Marled "Knlii, after the Summer vacations. We did not have nil the hoys preH' cut Inst Tuesday, but will ceitalnly have more at the meeting next next Tuesday. Some were still on their vacation, while .others had to get school books. Some perhaps did lot know about it and others for got. Next Tuesday evening nt 7:110 wc Want all to be present. Kvery hoy should bring another. We ask the parents to send their hoys am if possible attend themselves. All can help with the singing. At the same time It gives the boys more encouragement. We especially need men to slug tenor and bass, liring your friends. Ivvtry 1 uesday 11 0111 7:30 to 8:30 p. in. at the Congrega tional church. Our next conceit will be at the State Fair at Salem.
