Next Sunday the pulpit of the St. John 8 Community Church, Congregational, will be filled in the morning by. Uov. J. a. hd wards and in tho evening by Rev. Mr. Hoffman of tho Rose City Park Congregations church, the pastor, D. E. Nourse, hav ing gone to Newport. Wash., where he will visit a few days. Mr. Nourse will return about the 16th of AuguBt, with his family and will be in the pulpit the following Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J, C. William Foster of North Seneca street died at the GoodSamaritan Hospital last Saturday of a com plication of diseases. He had been in ill health for tho past six months. Deceasedwasaged about GG years and had resided in St. Johns for the past 16 years. He was a contractor and builder by occupation and was architect for the Washington county court house. Surviving him are his widow, four sons and lix daugh ters. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at tha Evangelical church, Rev. C. P. Gates preaching the ser mon.
