J. B. Fletcher and wife nnd
M. A. Schuster and wife have
returned from a trip to Doty,
Wash., where they visited Mr.
Fletcher's son and daughter and
family. They had a very pleas
ant trip, although tho water was
very high. Everything was very
beautiful along iho highway and
good roads.
George Glawe, son of Mrs,
Kate Glnwo of 410 Oswego
street, died at thcEmanua! Hos
pital May 30th. Hia death re
sulted from appendicitis, for
which he was operated upon
some weeks ago. The deceased
was a fine young man well liked
by all who knew him. IIo was
aged about 17 years. The fun
eral took place Juno 1st: inter
ment in Riverview cemetery.
While Mr. and Mrs. Abram
Cook of Newberg were driving
by auto from. their home at New
berg to the coast Tuesday of last
week, in some manner the auto
sheered from the road and Mr.
and Mrs. Cook were thrown from
the machine nnd struck a fence
alongside of the road. Mrs. Cook
died of her injuries last Friday
and Mr. Cook is still confined to
hia bed as a result of injuries.
The deceased was the mother
of Mrs. J.M. Shaw of this place.
