On Sundny, tho 2Gth of Sep tember, a very pleasant reunion was held at tho homo of Mr. and Mrs. Alex McCluro of this place, the occasion being a celebration of tho 89th birthday of MrP. McClure's fath r. Mr. Win. Gat ton, and the G2nd wedding anni versary of Mrs. Susan M. Rob orts of 103a Williams avenue, Portland, who has been a close friend of tho family sinco '52. There were G4 visitors present, including 15 grand children and 21 great grandchildren of Mr. Gatton's. A sumptuous one o'clock dinner was served, fol lowed by a musical program rendered by the granddaughters and their husbands. Cake and ico cream were served before tho guests departed. Park was elected to th'e office. The entertainment com mittee is at work and expects to put before tho Post at next meeting plans for entertainment that will make the buddies come to attention. Miss Georgia Rich will present in recital Ethel Knopf, pianist, assisted by John Oliver, violin ist, Friday evening, October 8th, 1920, in tho Christian church, corner Oswego street and Smith avenue. Miss Knopf will play a delightful program of composi tions from the works of tho great composers, Bach, Mendels sohn. Friml, Nollct, Rnchinnnis off, Ravina, Wollenhaupt These have been selected to show her broad technical proficiency as well as interpretative ability. She has had all of her musical truining from Miss Georgia Rich, who has already presented Miss Knopf in recital on previous oc casions. Mr. Oliver is a talented violinist, and will bo heard in two interesting groups from Kreisler, Ricchen, Bohm and Heschc. A cordial invitation is extended to the public to attend.
