Nine ty-eight gardens were inspected by the judges who decided upon the awards. A group of girls from the North School, under the direction of Mrs.Hagenbush, put on a domonstration of the proper wny to servo a dinner, in the bank lobby nt four thirty o'clock and following this award ing of the prizes was made by T. J. Monahnn, who made a pleasing address in which he praised the children for the splendid work they were doing in improving the community through cultivation of gardens. Prizes in the form of savings accounts were given by the bank ; for the eicht best irardens and also for the five best exhibits of ful contestant. The boys who garden products.
