HlitprJ JoiUty ST. JOHNS REVIEW VOLUME 1G ST. JOHNS, PORTLAND, OREGON, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 171920. NUMBER !5 4. We act as though we planned to stay on earth for countless years, but soon we'll hnve to move to some unchartered spheres. A little while we charge around, and put up ice and grass, then to the villngo planting ground in solemn state we pass. And there till time is dono we'll wait, and no emo tions he?d; so what's the good of all our hate, our envy and our greed? The evil thought cor rupts the mind and turns the blood to bile; so let our thoughts be always kind we're here so short a while! Bad passions' spoil this world of ours and make the spirit sick; far better deck a foe with flowers than soak him with a brirk. If there's a neigh bor you detest, and whom you'd gladly slay, admit forgiveness to your breast, and send hima'orat 1103 E. Burlington street, bouquet. All bitterness is a , Parties having donations which mistake; try kindliness instead; for any morning you may wakeN. II. Johnson by phoning Col. to lind that you are dead. Uach evening when I go to rest I spring a prayerful spiel for those by whom I'vo been traduced, i who for me hatred feel. For 1 would hate ta dio tonight and in the silence start across tho darkness, to the light, with mal ice in my heart. Walt Mason. This is not vanity on the part of the suruviun family; hut rather that they and their friends, as they look upon the face of the departed for the last time, may cherish in memory the face they knew and loved in life.
