COMMUNITY CLUB MEETS
' The St. Johns Community Club

were treated in a royal manner.
About ono hundred and seventy

by machinery, how tho loaves
are rolled, put in pans and placed
in tho big traveling oven and
how thoy como out at tho other

esting sight. Tho oven, which
cost $45,000 to install, bakes
4,000 loaves of bread per hour,
or 30,000 loaves por day. After
tho loaves aro bakad and cooled
they are fed into a machine
that wraps them neatly at tho
rato of 3,000 loaves por hour.
The guests it:o shown through
tho labratory wore the tests arc
made and samples of thodifcr

Tho trip through tho plant was n
revelation to most of the guests,
and tho scrupulous cleanliness

After tho plant had been
thoroughly inspected the guests

Thcso wero supplemented by Jo
licious ham sandwiches of
tho varioty madoin tho long ago
whan thoy placed mora than the
oders of ham batween the slices
of bread. Delicious coffee was
alao sorved. In fact tho generous
hosts saw that thero was nothing
wanting to satisfy tho cravings
of tho inner man.
Mr. Wright of tho Log Cabin
Baking Co. gave a noat littlo
talk in which he atatad that tho
plant coat $325,000, that an
average of 105 barrels of flour
were used daily, that the plant
has a capacity of 110,000 loavea
per day, that special pains were
taken to retain tho natural fla
vor and color of thoir bread.
Chairman Monahan gavo a
most interesting talk in which
he describad how Mr. Ritmun,
