all who knew him, and there

Jefferson jumped into tho lead
of the interscholasliu league
Tuesday by scoring a 21 to 0
victory over James John, it ho.
ing the Democrats' third straight
win of the season. For practic
ally tho entire game the James
John team was kept on the de-
fens vo and had little chance to
display their usual stylo of foot
ball. JoiTerson resorted mostly
to oiinn play for their gains.
The first quarter developed into
a punting duel between Youmans
of Jefferson and Schroodorof
James John. Tho Jefferson
eleven came out ahead in tho
kicking contest, as their ends
wore down on tho "mints and
smothered the James John backs
Hi their tracks, beforo they could
return tho ball. The James John
team was in poor condition for
tho contest, several of their
players being on tho hospital
