Burton, pastor of the Baptist church, has moved to Centralia, Wash. The church will continue their work with Sunday school at the usual hour and one service a day in the morning. W. P. Church Clerk. o Dorothy Maudo O'Brian was drowned in the Willametto river Sunday, August 17th, while rid- ng in a canoe in company with another girl friend and two young gentlemen. She was the aughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bent- ey U'Mrian ot La vert street. and wa3 born in Glasgow. Scot land. Dec. 21, 1902, having been a resident of tho United States for the past eight years. The young lady had been a student Jof the James John High school the past year and was preparing to continue her studies. Sho had the reputation, it is said, of being one of tho prettieat girls in the city. Besides her parents and relatives sho leaves a host of friends to mourn her untime ly death. Funeral services were held at the Episcopal church on Hereford street, Portsmouth, August 23d, Miller & Tracey in charge. Interment in Columbia cemetery. Dr. H. F. Jones, after a month's vacation, will again oc cupy the puplit as usual at the Christian church, beginning Sunday morning.
