Extension of the shed of nier No. 1 COO feet landward and the dock and shed 300 feet, at the St. Johns terminals, was deter mined upon yestorday morning by the dock commission. Antic ipation of unemployment of wage earners before spring and tho advisability of completing the improvements laid out for the city's bulk grain handling facilities promoted the commis sion to instruct Chief Engineer Hegardt to proceed with the preparations of the plans and specifications for this work. In carrying out the project the open pier will be mado 180x1500 feet in area. Engineer Hegardt was instructed also to complete the tentative plans for the proposed large drydock. The Parcel Post Social held at the Congregational church last Friday evening was a decided sccuess, both socially and finan cially.and the Ladles' Aid wishes to thank those who so kindly aided us in donating parcels, and those who assiited us on the program. We were especi ally fortunate in securing for one number, Mrs. Rankin, who is in the city visiting. Mrs. Rankin is soloist at the First Presbyterian church, Denver. Col.
